A 17-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a posh South Kolkata apartment on Saturday.
Aabesh Dasgupta, a student of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School was partying with his friends around noon. The flat where the minor youths were assembled for a birthday bash, belonged to a high-profile writer from Kolkata.
A little after noon, the youth started drinking and Dasgupta was hit by a broken alcohol bottle in a fit of rage by one of his friends, police said.
His friends later abandoned him at the residential complex’s lobby and fled the spot.
The security guards discovered a blood-splattered body and informed the police.
The body was later taken to the hospital, where Dasgupta was declared brought dead by doctors.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has registered the case and are interrogating all minor youths that were partying along with Dasgupta.
