The Latest on the fatal shooting of a man during a domestic dispute in Alabama (all times local):

Authorities say an Alabama officer shot and killed a man who shot his girlfriend during a domestic dispute and fired at police when they arrived.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson says the man shot his girlfriend in front of her children because “he felt like she came home too late.” The State Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that the Selma Police Department was called to a home Thursday night because of the dispute.
Jackson says the man threatened to kill himself. He says officers tried to calm the man down until he shot at police and an officer returned fire, killing him. Jackson says the couple has a history of domestic violence calls.
An officer was wounded in the exchange, but Jackson says he is expected to survive. The woman also is expected to survive.
Jackson says both the man and the officer who fired are black.

Police say a man reportedly armed with a gun during a domestic dispute was shot and killed by officers in Alabama.
The State Bureau of Investigation says in a news release that the Selma Police Department was called to a home Thursday night because of the dispute. Further details on the dispute were not immediately provided.
The SBI says it is investigating the shooting at the police department’s request.
A woman was wounded in the domestic dispute and taken to a hospital. The officer involved was treated for minor injuries.
The SBI says the findings of the investigation will be turned over to the Dallas County District Attorney, who will determine whether to bring any charges.
