Apple selects ‘Best of 2016’: Here are top 10 apps, games, songs in iPhone, iPad and Mac

Apple has revealed its ‘Best of 2016′ picks for the year in its App store in iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Watch. The list unveiled by Apple highlights the best games and apps made by third-party developers on such platforms during the whole of 2016. The best of 2016 are: iPhone (App: Prisma, Game: Clash Royale), iPad (App: Sketchbook Motion, Game: Severed), Mac (App: Bear, Game: Life is Strange), Apple Watch (App: MySwimPro, Game: Field Day) and Apple TV (App: Twitter, Game: GP Renegade). Meanwhile, the most downloaded free for the iPhone is Snapchat and Pokemon GO was popular both on iPad and iPhone lists. Snapchat is the most downloaded free iPhone app, while the craze of the summer, Pokémon GO, unsurprisingly lands on both the iPhone and iPad charts.

When it comes to paid apps in iPhone, the top ten include the likes of FaceTune, 7 Minute Workout Challenge, Geometry Dash, KIMOJI, Heads Up! and Face Swap Live. On iPad, Minecraft: Pocket Edition was the most downloaded paid iPad app in 2016 and the top free app was YouTube. Apple also published the list of ’10 best apps of the year’ and ’10 Best Games of the year’ on other Apple devices, with Mac app store, as well. The top five games were: 1. Clash Royale, 2. Reigns, 3. Plants vs. Zombies 4. twofold inc. and 5. Riptide GP: Renegade.

The top 10 best apps for iPhone were: 1. Prisma, 2. MSQRD, 3. Quartz, 4.Vogue, 5. Meditation Studio, 6. Detour, 7. Credit Karma, 8. Glasses by Warby Parker, 9. Hyper and 10.Tinycards. The best TV shows were: 1. Game of Thrones, 2. The Walking Dead, 3. Downtown Abbey, 4. The Americans, 5. The Big Bang Theory, 6. Suits, 7. Mr Robot, 8. The Blacklist, 9. Vikings, and 10. Modern Family. Meanwhile, the top songs were: 1. One Dance – Drake, 2. Can’t stop the feeling – Justin Timberlake, 3. Work (featuring Drake) – Rihanna, 4. My House – Flo Rida, 5. 7 Years – Lukas Graham, 6. Closer (feat. Halsey) – The Chainsmokers, 7. Love Yourself – Justin Bieber, 8.
