Ariana Grande ‘Sick and Objectified’ After Encounter With Mac Miller Fan

Ariana Grande posted a message on social media about an encounter with a fan of her boyfriend Mac Miller who made crude comments about the singer in front of her. The pair recently released their second collaboration, “My Favorite Part.”

In Grande’s message, posted as screenshots on her Twitter account, she notes that her and Miller were out grabbing food when a young boy approached them as they were heading to their car. “He was loud and excited and by the time M was seated in the driver’s seat he was literally almost in the car with us,” she says, adding that she thought the show of love and appreciation for the rapper was “cute and exciting” at the time.

Then, Grande reveals what upset her about the interaction. “He said, ‘Ariana is sexy as hell, man. I see you; I see you hitting that!!!” The pop star said she felt “sick and objectified” about the boy’s words. “Things like [that] happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy,” she continues.

She added that she felt writing about this moment was important because so many women are familiar with the experience of being spoken to or about in an uncomfortable way. “We need to share and be vocal when something makes us feel uncomfortable because if we don’t, it will just continue,” she writes. “We are not objects or prizes. We are QUEENS.”
