itel Mobile has started its second phase of expansion in the South Indian market by launching its products in Kochi on Tuesday.
itel, the brand from Transsion Holdings Conglomerate, have already gained a significant market in 11 states including UP, Gujarat, J&K, Jharkhand, Punjab etc in the first phase of launch. The brand provides a unique 100-day replacement warranty offering, a first of its kind service proposition in the mobile handset space in India, Sudhir Kumar, CEO, itel Mobile India said.
Targeting mass consumers, the company has already sold more than 2 million handsets in a couple of months since its operational launch. The brand, which launched 15 products, is now looking at selling 2 million handsets by Diwali festival season.
The brand aims to take the number of distributors to 1,000 and retailers to 80,000 by the end of this year in order to provide a larger consumer base. With a view to enhancing the ownership experience, itel Mobile is setting up 1,000 service centres across the country by the end of this year.
