NEW DELHI: South Korean smartphone maker LG has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of K8 and K5 smartphones. The company also said that both the devices will be rolled out in some of the key markets starting this week. The LG K5 will be introduced in Mexico, whereas the LG K8 will be made available in Asia, Africa, Middle East and Latin America.
Talking about the specifications, the LG K8 flaunts a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek processor. The smartphone offers 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded further using a microSD card.
The 4G smartphone features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. The connectivity options of the smartphone include 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and packs a 2,045 mAh removable battery.
On the other hand, the LG K5 features a 5-inch FWVGA display with 854×480 pixels resolution. Powering the handset is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage of the smartphone accounts to 8GB which can be expanded further using a microSD card.
The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and it sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera to facilitate video calling. The connectivity attributes of the device include 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and houses a 1,900 mAh battery.
