PlayStation Now is coming to Windows PC in Europe, North America soon to follow

Soon, you’re going to be able to play your favorite PlayStation titles on Windows PC. Even more exciting news for Europe is that the PlayStation Now will be available for download as soon as tomorrow for UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Originally discovered earlier today as a ‘leak’ through an image caption, the PlayStation Europe blog post confirmed what enthusiasts have been buzzing about this morning. PS Now has over 300 titles available for instant play including PlayStation classics such as Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and God of War. Some fan-favorite PlayStation 3 hits are also available such as The Last of Us and Journey.

Here are the recommended specs for running PS Now on your PC:

  • Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

As with many streaming services, it’s recommended to use a wired Internet connection for the best experience possible. While the system requirements state that a minimum of 5Mbps connection is required, it’s probably best to opt for more. Mac support for PS Now is on the docket, but Sony has officially confirmed a response that they do not have any information to give at this time.

The news coincides with the announcement of the DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller and adaptor created specifically for PC use. The controller is ideal for using with the PS Now or PS4 Remote Play. The controller is expected to release in September this year with a suggested retail price of $25. The product page doesn’t have pre-ordering enabled yet, however.

North America will have to wait for the PlayStation Now to release on their Windows PCs, unfortunately. There is not an exact date or estimation given at this time as to when we’ll be able to download the application.
