Quanergy has acquired OTUS People Tracker software from a subsidiary of Raytheon, the company announced on 29 August. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Quanergy makes LiDAR sensors as well as other sensor systems, with the company saying that the new acquisition would add to its ability to use those sensors for tracking people.
The software had been developed by Raytheon BBN Technologies, a specialty unit of Raytheon that works on research and development programmes.
Quanergy said that the software was designed to develop signatures for individual people that would then allow tracking. The software could be used for crowd control operations, as well as other surveillance situations.
