Sony Bravia KD-65Z9D 65-inch Android TV with 4K HDR processor launched at Rs 5,04,900

NEW DELHI: Sony has launched its next generation Bravia smartTV in India. Bearing the model number KD-65Z9D, the Android 6.0 based TV is part of the new Bravia Z9D series and comes with numerous advanced features. The 65-inch TV has a price tag of Rs 5,04,900 and will be available at select Sony Centers and electronic stores in India. Also, pre-bookings will be available from October 15 to October 31.

The new Sony Bravia KD-65Z9D has a new 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, which is claimed to provide the ultimate 4K HDR experience with up to 40% more real-time image processing as compared to the earlier 4K Processor X1. Its technology upscales the standard dynamic range HD content to near 4K HDR quality by analyzing images in each scene and correcting colour and contrast of each object individually. This works with content from varied sources like internet videos, HDMI and USB.

The new HDR processor has an object-based HDR remaster which can reproduce scenes with the detailed texture and the appearance of real life. On top of current up-scaling database, the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme has an additional Sony-exclusive database for noise reduction. By searching through thousands of picture patterns, the dual database processing removes unwanted noise and up-scales every image to super clear 4K image.

Apart from that, there’s Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR technology which creates a smoother, natural picture. With its 14-bit powerful signal processing, it breaks up the solid bands of colour of 8-bit (Full HD) or 10-bit (4K) source, up-converting 14-bit equivalent gradation with 64 times more colour levels. It delivers graceful reproduction of faces, sunsets and other areas of subtle colour gradation.

Sony’s newest Bravia Android TV also comes with a Backlight Master Drive technology. It’s a precision backlight boosting technology which allows expansion of brightness and contrast even further, helping in tapping the full potential of 4K HDR. The Backlight Master Drive combines a dense LED structure with a super accurate lighting algorithm and unique optical design.

Backlight Master Drive delivers enhanced dynamic range with deep blacks and improved lights for scenes that look more real than ever before, unleashing the full potential of 4K HDR content.

Finally, the new TV comes with X-tended Dynamic Range PRO technology which enables better contrast by precisely balancing the light output across the screen, dimming some areas and boosting others. The Triluminos display enhances colour accuracy further.
