Miss Joyce, who lives in Enfield, north London, was promoting a new pink dress in a film posted online four days ago but fans believe that it contained several hidden cries for help, including a whispered ‘help me’.
She tweeted this morning: ‘I’m TOTALLY fine guys, i am feeling very good today and its actually so heartwarming to see so many people care about me’.
But despite her plea to fans to calm their frenzy many still refuse to believe she is safe.
Speaking from the family’s £850,000 semi-detached home, with a Porsche and a Nissan on the drive, in the affluent area of Enfield, north London, her mother Cheryl Joyce made reassurances that her daughter was safe and well looked after. Her daughter was not available for comment.
She said: ‘Police have visited and they’ve seen her and she’s fine and well.
‘The gun is a toy gun, one of those BB guns – I’ve got other children. She’s just done a live stream to fans to show she’s all right.
‘As for the bruising, we all bruise easily. There’s no abusive relationship’.
Mrs Joyce sought to quash the bizarre rumours made by fans.
She said: ‘It was me speaking in the video. I was filming for her and I whispered ‘stand LIKE me’ not ‘help me’.
‘She’s only young, I’m a good mum and I look after her very well. Marina takes things in her stride and she’s fine.
Cheryl explained that she’s not at all pushy and doesn’t usually ‘get involved’ in her daughter’s videos, she just helped her out ‘just once’ as Marina was modelling clothes.
She added: ‘It’s not a publicity stunt, not at all, and I don’t think it looks like one.
‘Police have put out their own statement and things are now settling down. We’re a private family really, this all just turned into a frenzy’.
Fans started to express concerns about her safety yesterday, and some conspiracy theorists still refuse to accept she is not in danger, urging police to return to her home.
Some said the 19-year-old looked terrified in one section of the YouTube video containing her cryptic ‘help me’ message.
As the frenzy intensified she was also asked to explain why her home has bars on a single window, why a gun appeared in one film, and why she had a bruised back and arm.
In a live blog this morning she said: ‘I’m now bruise free… but I can’t explain the bruises because it’s a sad story, a really sad one. I just can’t say. It’s a secret’.
She was also asked to explain why her home has bars on the windows and some kind of rifle appears to be resting against her drawers, which Miss Joyce said was her mother’s BB gun.
She added: ‘People have been saying I’m in danger and I’m not okay and I don’t know why.
‘I’m not in danger and I’m not on drugs. Thank you for caring about me. I love and care about you.’
A police source told MailOnline they do not have concerns for her safety and there is no suggestion a third party putting her in danger.
Some of her 800,000 followers on YouTube and Twitter even became convinced the teenager had been grabbed by ISIS.
Their fears was heightened when she tweeted last night that she was holding a meet-and-greet in east London and people began urging people not to attend in case it was a trap.
One blog post, which has been viewed thousands of times, said: ‘DO NOT GO TO THE PARTY. PLEASE. Marina’s twitter account (which Marina probably does not have control over) has tweeted about a party. Do NOT go. There have been reports of shootings in the location. i have the feeling, along with many other people, that someone is forcing marina to make these video
British YouTuber Alfie Deyes tweeted: ‘Please please do not attend @MarinaJoyce7’s meet up tomorrow morning. I’d hate for anyone to be in danger #savemarinajoyce x
JosBerlanga said: ‘PLEASE do not attend this meeting could be dangerous #savemarinajoyce #GodWhitHer’.
According to the Evening Standard fans did had to Bethnal Green this morning but Marina did not appear.
Last night one fan of the star apparently found her address and gave it to police and asked them to check her safety.
The official Met Police Twitter feed for Enfield said this morning: ‘Officers have visited YouTube user Marina Joyce. She is safe and well. #ETeam #savemarinajoyce’.
A spokesman said: On July 27, officers attended an address in Enfield following numerous calls from members of the public reporting concerns for the welfare of a woman. The woman is safe and well’.
Some have continued to call the police afterwards believing officers needed to return to check again
Fellow YouTube star Emma Blackery, a singer songwriter, says she has also had confirmation Marina is well, but fans have demanded proof.
She said today: ‘I’m not sure why people keep accusing YouTubers of lying if they say they know people have checked on Marina? It’s not a massive conspiracy’.
‘If I’ve been told she’s okay, I will tell you what I’ve heard. I don’t have recorded phone calls to give you. So please stop asking me’.
