The MAC Spin Foundation began a new journey on Monday as it inaugurated its new premises at Gandhi Nagar Education Society.
A pavilion at the venue in honour of industrialist M.A.M. Ramaswamy was unveiled by the chairman of MAC Spin Foundation and former BCCI president A.C. Muthiah and educationist Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah.
The MAC Spin Foundation was formed in the year 1995 and the new facility will have four turf wickets and one concrete wicket.
Speaking about the new facility, A.C. Muthiah said, “It’s a good opportunity for young cricketers at schools nearby to train here.
“We have had the pleasure of hosting Gary Sobers, E.A.S. Prasanna, V.V. Kumar and among others. Schools that are part of the Gandhi Nagar Society will benefit from this facility. I am thankful to Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah for providing this facility in such a nice locality.”
Former India cricketers Bharat Reddy, T.A. Sekar and B. Arun were also present on the occasion and inaugurated the nets at the venue.
