How to install the latest macOS Sierra beta on your Mac

Announced earlier this year at WWDC 2016, Apple has now made the beta version ofmacOS Sierra available to the general public as part of itsApple Beta Program.

Previously called OS X, the company renamed its the OS for Macs to macOS at this year’s WWDC. The change is said to have been made to bring consistency in the names of all its OSes like iOS , watchOSand tvOS.

The update brings several new features to the Mac lineup including Siri , bringing Apple’s widely popular iOS personal assistant to the iMac and MacBook.

Interested users can download the public beta from Apple’s Beta Software site, as long as it is supported on their device. And since this is a beta release, Apple warns users that they should avoid installing the software on their primary device.

So, all those who want to take a test ride of the Apple’s upcoming macOS can download the public beta by following the below steps:

Step 1: Go to the Apple Beta Program website, and click on Sign Up.

Step 2: Login with your Apple ID. Now, Apple’s terms of agreement should show up. Read and accept them.

Step 3: You will be redirected to Apple’s Guide for Public Betas website. Click on the ‘Enroll Your Devices’ link on the top of the page.

Step 4: In the ‘Install the macOS Sierra public beta’ section, you will see a redemption code. Click the Redeem Code button.

Step 5: The Mac App Store will now launch. Login using your Apple ID, and the installer will begin downloading.

These are all the steps you need to follow to install the latest macOS update on your system. Once you have activated macOS Sierra, make sure to give Siri our regards.
