Apple launched the iPhone 2019 models earlier this month. These are the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It is hardly a month since Apple has launched the new iPhone 11 series and it looks like the Cupertino major has seemingly started working on the iPhones that it will launch next year, 2020. A notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo brings some new information about the iPhone 2020. Kuo has a good track record of predicting features of upcoming iPhones. So, expect this piece of information to be authentic.
Kuo suggests that iPhone 2020 will see radical change as far as the design is concerned. He says that iPhone 2020 will come with iPhone 4 like chassis design. Now that’s some transformation in the design when compared to the recent iPhones like the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhones launched this year or even the last year come with extremely slick design and premium body.
Kuo further notes that iPhones 2020 will come with a flat metal frame and 2.5D glass body. He also suggests that the iPhones that will launch next year will come with 5G support. Possibly not all iPhone 2020 models will come with 5G support. We will only the top-end version of the iPhone 2020 will bring 5G support to the consumers. Similar to the last two years next year as well Apple might consider launching three iPhones.
The analyst further notes that the new chassis design and 5G support will lead to higher demand among the consumers. Kuo further adds that Apple is likely expecting to ship 85 million approx units of iPhone 2020 models. Now that’s a big number. Past rumours hinted that all the three iPhones launching next year or 2020 will come with OLED displays. Some other rumours suggest that top-end models of iPhone 2020 will bring new 3D ToF cameras on the back.
Kuo believes with the chassis design, 5G support, OLED panel and more such premium features the cost of iPhone 2020 will be set extremely high.
This year’s iPhones – especially the iPhone 11 – is very aggressively priced in India. The price of the iPhone 11 starts at Rs 64,900 in India. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max starting price in India goes up to Rs 99,900 and Rs 1,09,900, respectively. Apple is hoping the iPhone 11 to have big sales numbers in India. The successor device aka the iPhone XR has had big sales numbers in India.
Similar to every year, next year too – 2020 – Apple is expected to launch new iPhones around the month of September. At almost the same time the new iPhones will make their way to the Indian market.
