Vishnu Induri, the founder of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), is all set to make a Hindi film on India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup win. Sources say that it is a movie on the post-victory events that made India a different place.
The producer has signed an MoU with the cricketrers who were part of the World Cup winning team.
“As per this MOU the producers will get to use the actual names of the players and true incidents from their lives. Eleven Members out of the 14 players of the 1983 Team came together recently in Mumbai were excited that their story is being told to this generation which treats cricket as their religion which was not the same scene back then”, say sources.
Speaking on the occasion, Kapil Dev said, “The Journey of 1983 Team is a story of inspiration which proves that one can achieve anything if they aim for it and work for it no matter what the world thinks”.
Speaking about the movie, Vishnu Induri and Madhu Mantena the producers of the film, said “We are super excited about making of the 1983 movie and it is a huge responsibility on our shoulders to get it right as we don’t get to tell stories like this often”.
The movie is scheduled to go on floors by March 2017.
