Spotify has unveiled a new genre subsection dedicated to all things gaming. Now instead of having to weave around the search process to get your Final Fantasy orGrand Theft Auto fix, the streaming service is putting top soundtracks and a wide range of playlists in one spot, accessible across all platforms and even astandalone website.
“Power your gaming with curated playlists, original soundtracks and all the best tracks to take your music and gaming experience to the next level,” the company says.
Popular original soundtracks listed include Street Fighter V, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIIand everything from the Halo series. Spotify staff curated several playlists as well, covering moods and genres for fans of sounds ranging from metal to EDM to atmospheric sounds, plus collections and original songs geared towards retro gamers, Pokemon hunters and Minecraft fans (listen to one below).
Spotify also enlisted the help of Engadget, GamesBeat and other gaming world influencers to create guest playlists. For his contribution, GamesRadar‘s Anthony Agnello picked tracks from Aphex Twin, Daft Punk and other electronic music “perfectly suited to late night, chilled out, extended game marathons.”
