As the month of August arrives upon us, there are going to be some important releases that any smartphone lover shouldn’t miss. Below are the top 5 smartphones that are confirmed to be launched next month. We do not have the complete spec-sheet of the devices, but rumour build-ups hint at the possible features that we can expect in these devices.

Lenovo K5 Note

Lenovo has already confirmed an event in India on August 1, where it is going to launch the K5 Note smartphone. The premium budget smartphone was originally released earlier this year in China, but the international variant is expected to be different. The pricing of the Vibe K5 Note in India is still a mystery, but we’ll know for sure next Monday.

Samsung is doing its traditional bit of teasing and has confirmed an Unpacked 2016 event for August 2. The reference of number “7” in the Unpacked website confirms the release of its Galaxy Note 7. The event will be live-streamed from its official website, where all the details, including the handset’s price, specifications and features, will be revealed.

Oppo F1s

Oppo is building upon the success and demand of its F1 Plus by launching a new selfie-centric smartphone on August 2. The new handset will feature premium camera, catering to the need of those who love taking selfies in their leisure.

Details about the Oppo F1s are scanty at the moment, but it is widely expected to sport a capable 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

 

Coolpad selfie smartphone

As the selfie trend grows, Coolpad is looking to take advantage of the opportunity by releasing a premium selfie smartphone. The Chinese smartphone maker has a limited number of handsets in its portfolio and on August 10 a new device will be added that will steer the company towards a new direction.

Coolpad’s selfie smartphone is a mystery, but considering the company’s history with handsets like Coolpad Max, Coolpad Note 3 and Note 3 Lite, we can expect a value-for-money smartphone with a good selfie camera. We’ll know the official details about the device next month.

Meizu Metal 2 (and a smartwatch?)

Meizu is getting back in the game after staying quite for a while. After the launch of the MX6 smartphone in China this month, the company is planning to release Metal 2 smartphone in its home-country on August 10. Rumour has it that the event will also witness the launch of a new smartwatch, which looks quite similar to Moto 360. Fingers crossed.
